MEMBERS’ NEWSLETTER 3rd SEPTEMBER 2021
REHEARSAL TUESDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER
On Tuesday we will be welcoming back a good number of members who haven’t been to the post-lockdown rehearsals. Inevitably the increased numbers will reduce the amount of free space in the hall, but there will be wide gaps between rows and as much elbow room as possible.
As we move into autumn, we will try to find a balance between adequate ventilation and comfort, but doors and windows will need to be open so dress accordingly. Our meteorologically trained Chairman promises that ‘we are losing our easterly winds and the forecast is for a warmer September’.
Attendance Lists will be in the foyer for you to check-in after hand cleansing: sopranos and tenors on the left, altos and basses on the right. Please avoid forming queues in the foyer.
With the increased numbers and, to avoid mingling, it becomes even more important that everyone is masked, goes straight to their seat on arrival and stays there. At the end of rehearsal replace your mask, stay in your place, collect your belongings and file out when invited. You may want to remind yourselves of the Safety Notice.
Please check your place on the new Seating Plan which has been drawn up with eventual concert seating in mind. The red lines indicate the edges of the staging. Your music will be on your seat when you arrive if you don’t already have it. The paper booklet is yours to keep but the Library copy of the Vivaldi must be returned when requested and please use only soft pencil in it.
NEW AND RETURNING MEMBERS
We welcome to our ranks seven new members and four returning members.
NEW COMMITTEE MEMBER
We are pleased to announce that Sarah Powell has been co-opted on to the Managing Committee.
ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE DUE
Thank you to the majority who have paid their Membership Subscription for the 2021-22 season. Can we remind those of you who haven’t that the due date for payment is the first rehearsal you attend (except for new members who are given a couple of weeks to make sure they want to stay!).
The payment of £130.00 should be made by either:
Online bank transfer (our preferred method)
Account Name: Cirencester Choral Society
Bank code: 20-84-58,
Account no: 40263192,
Ref: Your surname and initial
Cheque, posted in the red box at rehearsal. Please make payable to Cirencester Choral Society and write your name and initials on the back of the cheque as account names can’t always be linked to a name we know!
We cannot accept payment by cash.
Please contact the Treasurer if you have any difficulty making your payment.
Any voluntary donation you would like to make to the Society would provide very welcome extra help towards rebuilding our financial position after the pandemic. This can be added to your subscription and, if you are a taxpayer, it will attract Gift Aid if you have given us your mandate.
We are all aware of how those little black blighters seem to dodge about between rehearsals so please keep refreshing your memories by singing along to these links:

If you test covid-positive within a week after attending a rehearsal, it is vital that you email email@example.com immediately so that, depending on the circumstances, we can warn everyone else appropriately.
AND FINALLY . . .
Thank you Jane for this:
