Application Form

Thank you for expressing interest in joining Cirencester Choral Society. Over our long history we have always striven to achieve the highest possible standards in our performances. We cannot currently accept new members as our numbers have reached the capacity of our rehearsal and concert venues. We have initiated a waiting list for those interested in joining. We do not require our members to be good sight readers or to have had musical training, nor do we audition, but we do expect everyone to be able to sing in tune, to have a voice that blends with the rest of the chorus and, if not already experienced, to become competent in following their part in a choral score. Also important are an enthusiasm for the type of music we sing and a commitment to learn and to practise. Attendance at most of our weekly rehearsals is therefore expected and missing four or more Tuesday rehearsals in a term may mean a member not being allowed to sing in a concert. We practise on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30 pm in St. Peter’s Hall , St. Peter’s Road, Cirencester, from the first Tuesday in September to the first Tuesday in May with a 2-3 week break over Christmas. If you complete and submit this form we will acknowledge receipt and place your name on the waiting list. We will contact you again when a vacancy arises and at that stage will suggest that you come along to one or more rehearsals to help you decide whether or not you wish to join.
